Industrial RFID Reader with Built-In 10dBi Antenna

This industrial RFID reader combines a UHF reader and built-in 10dBi circularly polarized antenna in one housing for fixed RFID tag identification in industrial and automated environments.

Standard frequency options include 902–928 MHz and 865–868 MHz, with other frequency bands available for customization. The reader supports ISO 18000-6C / EPC Gen2 compatible UHF tags.

RF output is adjustable from 0 to 30 dBm through software. The specified stable reading distance is more than 12 meters, depending on the RFID tag, RF settings and installation environment.

10dBi Integrated Design for Industrial Reading

The built-in 10dBi circularly polarized antenna combines the reader and antenna into one fixed device, reducing the need for a separate external RFID antenna and RF cable.

Its higher-gain antenna is suitable for industrial checkpoints where tags need to be detected before reaching or passing through a defined reading point.

The reader also supports timed automatic reading and external-trigger reading, allowing it to work with sensors, access systems and automation equipment.

Actual RFID read distance depends on tag sensitivity, RF output power, tag orientation and the installation environment.

Typical Applications

  • Production Automation
For RFID identification at production stations, material transfer points and automated process checkpoints.
  • Warehouse & Logistics
For identifying tagged pallets, containers, cartons or assets at receiving, shipping and movement points.
  • Vehicle Identification
Can be installed at vehicle entrances or industrial yards where UHF tags are used for automatic identification.
  • Laundry & Textile Tracking
Suitable for fixed reading points where UHF-tagged garments, linen bags or laundry carts move between processing areas.

Application Example: RFID Laundry Entrance Monitoring

A 10dBi industrial RFID reader can be installed at the entrance or exit of an industrial laundry area to identify UHF-tagged garments or linen as they move between processing zones.

For example, laundry carts or bags containing items with UHF laundry tags can pass through a defined reading point. The reader captures compatible EPC Gen2 tag IDs and transfers the data to a laundry management or inventory system through TCP, RS232 or RS485.

The trigger input can also be connected to an external sensor so RFID reading starts when a cart or batch enters the reading area.

For this type of installation, maximum distance is not always the goal. RF output should be adjusted to create the required reading zone and reduce unwanted reads from nearby laundry carts or storage areas.

Actual performance should be tested with the intended laundry tags, cart material, tag quantity and site layout before final deployment.
